1) All letters should be hand-written (but typed with a signature works, too) and mailed through regular postal mail. Because anyone can e-mail comic creators, you shouldn't bother with that as a replacement for actual letters.

2) Remember to make your letter easy to read. Some people can compose their thoughts better on a word processor, but then hand-write the letter before it is mailed out. And the spell check and grammar check functions help, too.

3) Yes, it is time consuming, but you should mail a separate letter to each of those people. The more letters there are, the more effective we're going to be!

4) Be positive and polite. Don't bash anything they are doing, just make clear what you would like to see them do, which is to keep Miguel alive in the comics. More flies with honey and all that..!

5) Remember to stick the subject (bringing back Miguel to comics). Your addressee may be turned off by a letter that strays too much from the basic points.

6) You can mention that they are already in the process of reviving 2099 with the Marvel Knights 2099 books, and it makes it a much shorter step for them to consider a revival of classic 2099 characters, like Miguel!

7) Try to keep your focus on Spider-Man 2099, even if he isn't your personal favorite 2099 character. These days, anything Spider-Man related has the best chance of making it to the comics, and his return would open the gateway for other 2099 characters.

8) Emphasize that what you want is the REAL Spider-Man 2099, not a revamp or a different character with the same name.

9) Feel free to make references to specific things about the original series that may not be about Miguel (ie; the writer, some details about the character) but don't get too long-winded or obscure.

10) Remember that Marvel management's chief concern is whether a book will sell, so explain why you think 2099 is a concept that can succeed in today's market.

11) Emphasize that despite being out of print for several years, Spider-Man 2099 still has a big fan following.

12) Refer them to the 2099 board, and include the URL. Mention that is a gathering place for fans of 2099, and has all sorts of 2099 resources.

13) Thank them for their time, and express hope that they will consider your request.

14) Sign with your real name. Nobody will take a screenname seriously.
