For those who dont like the SI flashback format they add insult to injury with this issue having a flashback IN a flashback. Another disappointing, for redundancy and non-context, skrull homage cover. And to nitpick the PrevPage, its been very confusing how some stories have stated(confirmed for the readers) that the skrulls have achieved contradicting degrees of victory and rule. And speaking of redundancy, not critiquing 'cuz the art was OKAY but, not only is the first and last page identical splash pages in many ways but the Alias-like layout returns to the interchangealbe headshot panels to spotlight the script. They slapped on 2 repeated pages of the repeated sequence from SI 8 at the end to justify the Event logo. (Wow, The Hood really took his time making a getaway.) That was the bad - which taints another NA issue for me. HoOOowever...

As a generic filler story it was... GOOD. First time for me reading about Luke's relationship with his father which was interesting. Mr Lucas could challenge Ms Marvel's mother in an Upset Parent Contest! Also, the loving banter with the wife and the kid felt real. Never got to hear the name Dani but on the plus side did get to here the name Power Man again. Never got a clue on the Yakuza plot against DD but it is interesting canon now that H4H teamed up with Spidey to help Matt. Very surprised to see Luke badmouth Dakota North like that given their dynamic in DD currently(maybe she didnt ever succumb to his charms back then) but liked how Jessica played her detective role well. Luke doesnt get back with his father but does 'get the girl'. Happy flashback ending.

In the end, Luke can now challenge Peter Parker in a Negligent Parent Contest (along with Parker Robbins and Eric O'Grady)! Dont forget the H4H MB (with a few more)...
