Guess who this is: This superhero... -shows concern for the women Avengers well being. -sets up a cute Jan sarcasm. -takes a sucker punch from Thundra. -wears a costume (if only a guantlets&belt). -enjoys bachelor celebrating. -enjoys tossing around the pigskin. -shows concern for the cleanliness of the Mansion. -teases and later reprimands Hawkeye -willing to falsely accuse the Hulk. -says 'Oh geez'. -talks to his mama on the phone (he's a Mama's boy). -reprimands Hawkeye. -is introduced to Batroc and pins him easier than any Avenger. -upset that Cap would make him go on a date. -is paired with Thundra...and brings her flowers! -is intimidated by Thundra. -upset that Batroc set him up on a blind dates. -willingly washes a couple hundred dishes. The answer: Luke Cage in... Marvel Adventures Avengers 35 http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.7734.Preview~colon~_Marvel_Adventures_the_Avengers_ ![]() Not sure when 'this superhero' joined but its good to see the membership expansion - it was... interesting to see him appear to be more PG13 than Spidey or Cap. Especially after coming to accept the bad-ass version established since MAX's Alias hit the LCS. But this take on him does suit the title. And if you are in the mood for a quick, fun, self-contained Avengers story, with decent art, and one of the better light-hearted Marvel villains then this ish is fine. Other fun stuff: -Good cover. -A fun take on a typical Thundra (w/no worries about her continuity disruption). -Clever title and dating service name. -Spidey funny like Spidey should be funny - and even Cap is comical in a dignified way. -Hawkeye appropriately the catalyst for the chaos that ensues - not to mention him able to score extra dates, -The surprise reveal that it is Batroc was well done and his rationalization to start the fight was spot on. -The dating team- err... match-ups that would never occur in a million years but were very smileworthy, in fact, the one is H4H MB bannerworthy to tempt topical traffic for Power Man! ![]() -Cameos by (women dressed as?) Dreamqueen, Snowbird, and Crimson Cowl were Easter Eggs - no idea who Cuckoo is: http://stashbox.org/514386/ma-av35cage.JPG -The gag ending was perfectly hokey - in a good way. | ||||
