Good issue. Not so good Simon showcase...

Disagree with the disappointment with the negativity about the ending, shared here:
http://marvel.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=4039430&sid=89078b654f0b0bdda8bca5bc533bd607
Thought it was a good self-contained effort that worked well in this generally hard to accept all-the-rest-of-MU-USA-falling-for-DA times. And Praetor_Drax had good comments:

> A good issue with a decisive, plot twisting ending.
Agreed.

> Not one of the best Dark Reign Mini's but decent.
Felt it far from the worst and better than decent.

> The whole arc was told in kind of a Quentin Tarantino flashback mode.
Finally got use to this trying device in this arc. Actually works.. decent here.

> But it was still an important story in the Dark Reign run, as we learn what befalls those villains not in the employ of Norman Osborn.
See below.

> Would've liked to see more of Wonderman in this issue though, especially in the battle with the Dark Avengers that's just glossed over.
Agreed, definitely disappointing.

> Hope he comes back into continuity, although I don't know how he would fit into Ms Marvel's title since this Wonderman is so much different than the Simon Williams from that book.
It'd be nice to see somebody stay in jail during DR and Simon would be a good candidate - not that there couldnt still be stories with him [and his con look from 2] involved though.

Quick notes on the others:

-HYde was handled very well http://www.comicboards.com/app/show.php?msg=comicbattles-2009100311511155
-Nekra was handled poorly. Hated her soap opera-sh, crybaby-like act here. Especially the skintone coloring - what was up with that?! The way she 'remembers' sex with Hyde seems way off for her dealing with men too. Hey, maybe Death-Reaper http://www.comicboards.com/app/show.php?rpy=fantasticfour-2009082002524863&search=reaper is HIS kid and not Eric's! And thought she'd be more into Kali-magic than Voodoo-magic.
-Grim Reaper had good character advancement. Guess he'll be GRAMPA's problems for the next little while. Curious how his 24 hour curse compares to the one The Hood arranged in The Punisher. BTW, are the Scourge re-animated zombies back by Dormammu-magic or Norn-magic most likely? Liked his Simon comment at the end [and the continuing dynamic from 2]
-Karla was handled well in the present. http://www.comicboards.com/app/show.php?msg=thor-2009100312210635 Have to think about the sex with Grey in the past though.
-Grey Gargoyle was handled well. Like how he was portrayed intelligently even though his deductions prove that he is your basic criminal fool.
-Sentry was actually used. Huh. Surprised he didnt break DuVall's jaw though.
-Norman his overexposure has made some of his decision making process tasking to follow. His DR chronology doesnt help. Never liked his armoring up feature, ala Extrimis, as presented at all... is being tied up like 'kryptonite' to that ability? Hmmph.
-Tillis is potentially the only decent 'new' character from this mini... especially with Livingston's dramatic fate. BTW, where is The Hole prison seen last that he spoke of?
-Letterman was too occupied to appear in this issue [like he did in 2 ;\) ]
