Subj: The ORDER #1: Jumbled thoughts... [SPOILERS] Posted: Fri Jul 20, 2007 at 12:39:27 pm EDT (Viewed 2 times) | Reply Subj: Talk to the hand! (IM movie pic) Posted: Fri Jul 20, 2007 at 08:19:23 pm EDT
I'm thinking of Dan Akroyd's comments to Jane Curtain about her intelligence and sexual proclivity as SNL news characters... just read The ORDER #1. That is not the Pepper I know and liked. Great that she's being used, figuratively speaking, in this Moritori Strikeforce-ish title though. Guess the IMMB is a good place for a review. I finished reading it confused. Whozit?Whatzit?Whenzit?Wherezit?Whyzit? Seemed to give a sort of confusing continuity feel to it. It had many interesting elements and good enough art&story pages unto themselves but it was difficult to appreciate them combined, as part of a whole premiere issue. Lot of raw potential here but it read a little scattered . Spent waaaay too much time on the jpeg to try better appreciate the issue in hindsight - maybe it'll help others too. ![]() Lots of jumbled thoughts from the issue: -MORE MORE MORE Tony Stark development in other titles (good and bad points about that). -Best promoted new series in some time. -Calamity looks like Gravity. -Bannerman Green and Bannerman Brown. Clones? LMDs? Synthezoids? New type simulcrums? -Knew each others names not like rules in Initiative. -Pantheon is already a team (in limbo). The names seem to be for position categorizing only and maybe radio chatter. Ares is being wimpified in his cameo. -Bluetooth is intriguing. -These were most likely part of the 62 count in Initiative #4. -Goodbye Suzi Endo, hello Pepper Potts. She helped Tony run his company so I guess helping him run his team isn't a stretch but didn't figure her interested in the superhero racket. Especially considering CW events and old IM issues. -Previously Page was important for a change! The background was intriguing as that could be Hill and Pym? And FOUR new(?) Order(Initiative?) trainees(?)! -Tony gets a Tony Stark actor to play leader of his team - vanity? Media misdirection preplanning? Tony drinking with 'Tony' was a freaky sight, though those girls were impressed. -Note to self, keep eye on comics with heroes celebrating. Even villains at No Name Bars as they can't be recruited if they continue drinking in costume! -Has a lot time passed since Tony's identity reveal to have Hellrung achieving such quick success playing him on TV in the opening TV interview; followed by a stint in AA(with Tony) for uncertain amount of time. Then the story is apparently set in a psych interview time frame later on - as he recalls the interview(?). -All 3 famous quotes seemed forced in that one page's progression. -Infernal Man might be an existing character. Might be a new type hero Project 717. No Prison 42 for him. -Did she sleep with him? Two separate times seen? Maybe the shower request scene was a time jump sequence prior to the bathrobe scene. Would REALLY like to read exactly how much time has passed since Happy's death to both scenes. -Everyone can fly in the -Is Avona a real world foreign name? -Mullholland or Black or Mullholland Black is in it for the fame to use her name. Probably, hopefully, gets Maul's(talk about trademark problems) hammer as it must be expensive for multiple ones to exist. But on the other hand SPINtech cost is outrageous and they have LOTS. -Firing them was good. May or not predictably return as a badguy team. I like that moral clause with the SHRA treated as it was intended. -Later threatening to fire was funny. -Nice group shots arriving at both crime scenes. -After reading Tony's statements of fact may have to ammend my perceptions as to how the Initiative works -Tony says the Order is part of the 50 State Initiative but Moonstone says TBolts is part of the NSC which contradicts the Previously Page because they are an Initiative team not working for SHIELD???? ![]() -For being broke after Disassembled, Tony made his money back and then some since then, eh - that is a stylish HQ. -Soma Process. Viral Genomech Payload. Moritori Strikeforce imagery. If it is revealed that there is a health risk at the end that will be SAD. Sad as those other schmucks who agreed to the poorly planned Trojan Horse strategy in the Inhumans miniseries. -Very intriguing (Russian?!) villain group next issue! -It ends with the TV interview or with him leaving the psych interview with identical background? Anyways, liked the Hellrung character.
