The HEROES FOR HIRE are back, baby! Cage practically said as much in... http://www.comicboards.com/app/image.php?msg=mub-2008083012510033&att=iif18h4h.JPG&fullsize=yes Immortal Iron Fist 18 http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.4622.Preview~colon~_Immortal_Iron_Fist_%2318 ![]() s p o i l e r s ![]() Solid issue. Great cover. Good PrevPage(for quantity). Preferred the main art to the prelude art. But the proto-Jae-Lee style was too trying in spots. The layout/pacing was enjoyably energetic but a tad too scratchy. KWAI JUN-FAN: Not clear if Ch'i-Lin is the name of the evil Master or this Servant that kills him. Still, it was a good set up to illustrate the trouble IF will face. A tad long, added to last issues sequence for the limited canon it provides. DANIEL RAND: -Really deserved his own name/time label like JUN and ORSON got. -The tilted head butt seemed physically impossible or as hardly as dangerous as Danny's "OHHHH..." reaction implied. -Danny's irreverant humor was great. -Odd way to incorporate two 'teats' into the dialogue. -Unfairly unclear of how many generations of Immortal Weapons this freaky monster has faced. Why study Danny's dad who was NOT an IF? -Bronx Sucker Punch was a great moment added to the stylish martial moves. -Not sure why his friends wouldnt include the Immortal Weapons Now but now matter 'cuz the Heroes For Hire are back, baby! -Liked their fight sequence and the 'heart' joke. -What is this T-shirt logo?: http://www.comicboards.com/app/image.php?msg=mub-2008083012510033&att=iif18logo.JPG&fullsize=yes -Like the dragon border emblems but dislike their space hogging and wanting twotone contrast. -Davos had a good interlude infodump but that did NOT look like Thunderer. Did he dump his traditional garb 'cuz he took up leadership?? -Misty is sexy here. Wing gets little face time and no 'juicy' dialogue(again). -Patrick or Nadine is the spy is a safe bet. -The answer-to-everything-Book should be destroyed before its too mishandled by writers like the Orb of Agamotto has become. ORSON RANDALL: He's okay and was entertaining in his first arc but dont see the appeal he has that warrants a second special, let alone the first one. Drugs to SAVE his life is an odd storyline but will wait to see where that goes. Recent Jim Lee take: http://www.comicartfans.com/Images/Category_1868/subcat_21009/if2.jpg ![]() ![]()
