This aint gonna last...

Secret Warriors #4
http://comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=2553&disp=table

-feel a bit self conscious about a 4th review in consecutive posts, maybe someone can take over the task for 5 if these arent working
-feels like just set up, all issue long... stiiill going on as of ish 3
-mostly player RE-introductions, at best, for new readers benefit but old readers have to wait for Act 2 to see something happen (besides a coma)
-the promise of action on the cover made it disappointing undelivered
-totally felt like a Nick Fury title and guest starring: Secret Warriors... theoretically it couldve been a premiere issue for a new title called Howling Commandos too (Hmmmm... http://www.comicboards.com/app/show.php?msg=shield-2009021801280834)
-1200 ex-SHIELD agents was a neat and generous detail for a Prev Pag but once given very insufficient and arbitrary without percentage of total or confirmation if only the American branches of international SHIELD (feels a little like a rehash of Civil War but without the superpowers)
-seeing Jasper was nice on one hand, on the other recycling the classic SHIELD agents is gets more annoying to a degree proportionate to the number of years from WWII; these guys, w/o powers, are more unkillable than Logan and Wade
-the godboy and the rebel spying for the vaguest of reasons in one of the poorest lit(colored) HQ in comics for 5! pages with unwritten promise of an LMD update
-the big bald member reading poetry (presumably written script from a famous poet instead) to YoYo in an otherwise 'Nuff Said sequence
-predictable pages and panels of old warstories when old warhorses gather but unfortunately readers only get the punchlines w/o the details
-a most UNproductive Cabal HYDRA meeting of the SIX HEADS
-the Punisher can slap together a more impressive arsenal, Nick should give him a call afterall he's already stooped to working with the Merc with a Mouth
-so basically the Howling Commandos mission statement is a similar return to the same one when he was Director only now its to be executed unlawfully
-we need more exposition for the reasons/effects of keeping Nick under the radar, in Limbo, for years now
-disgusting antipathy by Fury -or was it indifference- for his former teammates philosophically trapped by HAMMER makes him a bad guy here (whatever happened to the 'dont leave a man behind' code of honor)

There was some good...
-like the international locales
-Sebastian conceding to crashing the plane was a cute moment
-Eden 'hebetternotbeamutanttoaddtothe198' Fesi has potential
-good to see Gateway used (reportedly surviving Marauders in X-Men (vol. 2) #200)
-no idea who Randy Rhoads is but something to Google at least
-nothing wrong with adding a mystery seed of Fury's 'OTHER GROUP' (doesnt seem like he meant the HC)
-the loyalty that alleged turncoat Nick commanded just walking in off the street and taking charge of these Stark-Osborn haters is credit to him; wahoo for him
-potshot at Enron execs \:\)
-excellent final page reply by Fury was very COOL and very COLD
