After posing as a Dark X-Man with Emma to betray Norman Osborn, it seems as though Namor's joined the X-Men in the long-term. I'm not sure what to make of this; on the one hand, I've been really frustrated with the X-Men under Matt Fraction, and I never thought of Namor as an X-Character; he's technically a mutant, but his identity is based almost entirely on being an Atlantean with the " tragic mixed breed " elements occasionally brought up. I get that this is the era of super-consolidated Marvel books where Wolverine can be an Avenger, Storm can be the Black Panther's wife, and Norman Osborn can be every single character's arch-nemesis, but I'd like more original identity between the different books. I don't see why Namor's constituency in Atlantis would go along with him teaming up with the mutant Utopia either, and hope for some fallout regarding that.

On the other hand, Namor is one of the best Marvel characters, and a character who has benefitted from the recent darkening of the Marvel Universe; his lack of clear affiliations with good or evil make him work well in such a morally ambiguous world. And hey, Alan Davis is drawing this issue, and his work is lovely as always. So I'll give it a chance...
