Good post, yours, for...

Avengers: The Initiative #22

> The cover doesn't feature the "Avengers Disassembled" logo, probably due to all the slagging last issues' cover got on all the blogs.

Interesting speculation.
> I love Gage's writing and really enjoyed this issue. Lots of characters and lots of little moments, Great stuff.

Enjoyable issue! Great thing about this title is the fun quantity.
> Ramos' art is apparently shot straight from his pencils - which I don't think was the case in earlier issues (least ways I didn't notice it before). Not sure how I feel about it yet - I kinda like it - it reminds me, in a good way and only a little bit - of the duotone effect Byrne used to use in Namor. However, it may wear thin after a while.

Agreed at this point. But thought the cover was unfortunately goofy looking with Guantlets arm.
> The Madripoor sequence was interesting - Gage clearly has a thing for Madripoor and the status quo he set up over there in his Iron Man annual. Hardball and Scorpion II? interesting - isn't the new Scorpion working for SHIELD at the moment? so shes a double agent? a good twist given Hardball's history with the Initiative. I hope Gage resists the urge to redeem him - his turn was well done in the Special.

AFAIK, her last appearance had SHIELD testing her loyalty by killing Paladin (he faked it). Hope Hardball is the bad guy of the two 'cuz two double agent good guys in charge of HYDRA is too hard to imagine after the evil organization mistakenly supporting a Skrullektra.
> Typhoid's costume is ridiculous. I hope they change it.

Yeah, whats up with that. Was she just playing a costume game 'til the first person outed her correctly, then its back to hookerwear?
> I don't know if anyone involved in producing this issue realised it, but I think its kinda appropriate that when the real New Warriors finally re-emerge, its in a story where they fight Thor (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) as, of course, the original team debuted in Thor's comic in 1989 (20th Anniversary!!).

Excellent observation. Thought it reeeally odd that Donyell got over killing his bro so fast and hooked up with 'em though.
> This is one of my favorite titles at the moment. The scenes showing the Stamford publics' reactions are worrying though - I hope this "Disassembled" arc doesn't dismantle the whole Initiative 50 state set -up (how could they - its the title!) as I think its a interesting set-up and a great way to bring back obscure characters. Also Osborne's meddling with the program is rich with story possibilities.

Torn on what this Editorial decision should be. Can argue it both ways ATM. Here is a few other issue notes...

-PrevPage 'some of staff and dozens' were skrull which for some reason implied less than 48+ Inititiave personel that should be revealed to readers ASAP.
-Good Slapstick moment.
-Clor was kick-ass with his team buster showing and action packed battle! (For a second consecutive issue to boot!)
-nb: These guys are at least Class 10... whatever that means: http://members.boardhost.com/DoomPatrol/msg/1235706809.html
(And these Class 10 http://i39.tinypic.com/av4ua0.jpg are wanting out.)
-pet peeve that AVENGERS ASSEMBLE is being shouted in this title by everyone but.
-Tigra realy wants to litter?!
-Shadow Initiative lineup loooks cool but doesnt really look that stealthy to be honest.
-Doc Samson is on the job and... yup, jobbing.
-Hard to believe Baron could get a jolt fix long before this from some MU source; he should request a transfer to Project Pegasus or something.
-Liked the Trauma/Tarene moment.
-Thought Counter-Force was officially Registration approved, whats up with them being considered AWOL fugitives? Hmmph, then Vance had to go and steal gov't property... never mind.
