The Rules of Battle

Please read, and understand these rules before posting.

General Banning Policy: As a general rule, only blatant rudeness (including fighting or flaming) and blatant cheating will earn someone an immediate ban. Other times a banning may be handed out for technical reasons (i.e. flooding the board or spamming) or for ignoring repeated warnings such as posting spoilers. In any case, if you have been banned, you should immediately contact the mods, and be polite. If the mods are convinced that the infraction was caused by a momentary lapse in judgment or an error, you're likely to be reinstated more quickly.

1.
While it should go without saying, all of the Rules and Guidelines of ComicBoards apply here.

2.
"Real-World" battles such as wars, politics, and sports are off-topic here. Take those topics to the Community Board.

3.
If you have a comment about the operation of the Comic Battle Board or another poster's behavior, email the mods. Please don't bring up "board business" on the board itself.

4.
Have you been banned? If so, please contact the mods, and be polite. Occasionally technical problems may have caused you to be banned along with someone else - and either way, a polite response may help you be reinstated more quickly.

5.
Be careful when using sarcasm in your posts or subject lines, as it can easily be misunderstood. Take into account that someone reading may be in a foul mood and take it as an insult.

6.
If you encounter a rude, crass, or insulting thread, do not reply to it. Instead, notify the mods. If you reply in kind you risk being banned along with the perpetrator.

7
General Courtesy. In order to help the board run smoothly, we also ask four things to remember when posting.

7.1
If you have many battles to post, please post them all at once in one thread, instead of many different threads. The board moves very fast as it is, and doing this assure still active threads won't be pushed off the board any sooner than necessary.
7.2
Likewise, please try to restrict yourself to as few new threads as possible per day. Replies don't count.
7.3
Remember that not everyone gets and reads their comics at the same time. If discussing events that happened in comics from the last week or two, use the 'spoiler' checkbox to alert others to that fact.
7.4
If your message contains no additional text, please state as such in the Subject.
7.5
Please do not use ALL CAPS in the subject line.

8.
Tournaments. If you want to hold a tournament, that's fine. However, its best to make sure there are a bare minimum of tournaments (optimally one at a time) running at the same time. The mods neither endorse nor follow tournaments.

9.
Deletions. The mods reserve the right to delete any thread on the board for any reason. If you believe a post has been deleted by accident, please contact the mods via email rather than posting your comment to the board. Note that often times a reply of yours may be deleted along with an offending thread due to technical limitations of the software.

10.
Polls. The Vs. Poll is managed by the mods of the Battle board using specialized software which logs individual votes and tracks IP addresses. Tampering with the poll in order to damage or disable it will result in a ban both from future voting and from the board itself.
