The Guidelines for the Invaders Message Board

1. Choose whatever name/handle you wish for the board but under NO circumstances will you intentionally impersonate another poster or post under multiple handles.

2. No profanity. Keep profanity to an absolute minimum. This is an all-ages message board and I want to maintain at the VERY WORST a PG-13 level of discourse.

3. No Pornography. The posting of any nude or vulgar images or vulgar descriptions of private/intimate actions is not allowed. Such messages should NEVER be posted and will likely get your ISP banned.

4. No spam. Spam is defined as any message which does not relate to the topic of this message board, is solely posted to advertise a personal site, a money making scheme, a chain letter, or something of that nature.

5. No "versus" or "stats" posts.

6. No posting of fan-fiction.

7. Do not remote link to images from other sites as that steals their bandwidth. Save the images to your computer and ATTACH them to your message. Or sign up with an image hosting service. Any poster that does not follow this guideline will have his/her post deleted. Repeat offenders will banned.

8. Do not reprint (cut & paste) entire news articles from other sites. The reason they have news sites is so people go and visit them. If you find an aritcle that you want to share with the board just add a link and maybe a line or two from the article to entice people into reading it.

9. No Flames/Insults. Blatantly insulting behavior is prohibited. This includes insults to both posters and lurkers, including comic creators who are more likely to lurk than post. By all means feel free to critique the work--but not the person. Tempers may run high, but, keep all discussions civil, please. "Flame War" participants, regardless of "who started it", will be dealt with severely.

10. Off-Topic Threads. Off topic discussions will be tolerated to a small degree, but when instructed by the moderator to end a thread, you MUST cease and desist. Taking it to e-mail or the Community Board is the best solution. I am pretty easy going with off-topic threads. However, when I ask you to stop and you keep going, then we have a problem.

11. Spoilers must be marked in your subject line for all current and upcoming new comics until the next/newest issue is released or four weeks have passed, whichever comes first.

ComicBoards.com's official spoiler definition is as follows:

A spoiler is defined as any information about an upcoming comic book issue or a recently released comic book issue, with those exceptions:
Covers of upcoming issues are not considered spoilers.
Solitications of upcoming issues are not considered spoilers.
"Hype" information (such as "Character X will be showing up soon in Comic Book A") coming directly from the creators themselves are not considered spoilers.

All spoilers must be marked until four weeks has passed since the issue came out. An individual ComicBoards.com board might have additional rules pertaining to spoilers. You must follow the additional rules of the boards as well. First of all, ALWAYS mark your spoilers in accordance to the guidelines. Secondly, NEVER put the spoiler itself in the subject heading. Doing so will get the post instantly deleted. Finally, if you are providing spoilers about an "off-topic" title (such as X-Men spoilers on the Spider-Man Message Board, or Green Latern spoilers on the Flash board), you MUST put the comic book issue that you are spoiling in the subject heading. The reason for that being, if I'm reading the Batman Message Board and I see a post with the "SPOILER" warning in the subject heading, I am of course going to assume that the spoiler will be about Batman, not about Superman. If I also read Superman, and the post ends up being a spoiler about a recent Superman event that I had not yet read, I am not going to be pleased about the fact that I had this storyline spoiled for me. All "off-topic" spoilers must be marked until four weeks after the issue being spoiled has come out, regardless of what the individual boards' spoiler policy states. Posts that violate this policy will get instantly deleted. Violation of the spoiler policy can (and very likely will) lead to your posts being deleted. Repeated violations can lead to harsher consequences such as temporary or permanent banishment.

The moderator reserves the privilege of banning offenders from the boards, temporarily or permanently, without warning. You may be warned or you may not, at the moderator's discretion. Bannings and lesser disciplinary actions will not be discussed on the boards. Those are matters best left to email between the poster and the moderator. If one has a question about their banning they should e-mail the moderator for explanations (the moderator's e-mail address is located where new messages begin). If you believe the moderator is not treating you fairly, the managers of ComicBoards.com can be emailed for their input. Additional guidelines will be created to deal with items not already covered.
