helicopter pilot who says he is to bring Machine Man to Peter
Spaulding and his kidnappers. When the helicopter reaches the
destination, Machine Man jumps off the helicoper and jumps down in an
abandoned missile silo. There a voice calls to him, a screen appears
and a man in business-suit is seen as well as Peter Spaulding. Peter
shouts to Machine Man that the men want to make copies of Machine
Man)
Machine Man Vol.1 #8
(The man in the business-suit agrees to let Peter Spaulding go. When
Spaulding is sent away with a helicopter, Machine Man decides that he
should try to walk away, but the man (as a "warning")
shoots a beam of corrosive acid. Machine Man then decides to wait for
a while. He changes his mind, and uses his rocket-jets to get out of
the missile silo. He succeeds, but while in the air, he is shot down
by a beam. While Machine Man drops to the ground, more men arrives.
Machine Man is taken into a special truck, in order to take him to

are Alex, Jack, Julie and Katie Powers, four pre-adolescent children,
who are siblings to each other, who were granted superhuman powers by
a member of the alien Kymellian race (see: Appendix,
Alien Races, Kymellian).
The four siblings are the children of
Professor James Power, who sought a new means of deriving large
quantities of energy inexpensively for peaceful purposes (see: Power,
James). He designed a machine which
could open a small portal into another universe which had different
scientific laws than our own. Dr. Power called his machine, which was
build under a government grant, a matter/anti-matter converter. A
kymellian scientist learned of Dr. Power's discovery and decided to
destroy the machine, the Kymellians had discovered the same process a
long time ago, but because the Kymellian didn't master all of the
psysics that the process involved all of the inhabitants of their
home planet were killed (see: Whitey). Trying to save planet Earth
from destruction Whitey came to Earth to try to destroy the machine,
but the Kymellians enemies The Snarks came along trying to steal the
machine for themselves (see: Appendix,
