History: Like a lot of young kids, Ollie Osnick wanted superpowers, but unlike most others Ollie wanted to be a super-villain just like his idol Doctor Octopus (see: Doctor Octopus I). One day the rest of the guys split from Ollie thinking his obcession with Doctor Octopus was a bit too weird. Ollie decided to go out as the new Doctor Octopus, he broke into a comicstore, accidently knocked out a security guard, afraid he killed the guard, he tried to run, but was stopped by Spider-Man, who at first thought he eas fighting the real Doctor Octopus (see: Spider-Man I). Taking a job as a field reporter for Sports Inside, Phil’s first assignment was to interview a sports collector named Rudy Custer. During the interview, a group of hoods broke into Rudy’s home to steal his collection. Before the hoods left the tied Phil up using a bunch of old film reels, soaked the place in gasoline, and lit it on fire. The mixture of the gas and the strange chemicals on the old film reels created a once-in-a lifetime chemical combination that soaked through Phil’s skin and enhanced his athletic abilities. History: Fritz Von Meyer was an expatriate nazi scientist working incognito in a private laboratory he had build in South America using money that he had looted during his escape after World War II.
He discovered a highly radioactive beehive. The bees that inhabited it demonstrated exceptional intelligence. Von Meyer began working in his laboratory to try to find a way to control the bees, but was insetead attacked by them before having them under control. Upon having control of the bees, the bees had destroyed Von Meyer's human body, but his mind was still in control of the bees. Von Meyer's skeleton was now covered with mutant bees, and he began a carreer as a super-villain fighting superheroes like The Champions and Spider-Man (see: Champions; Spider-Man)
