Amazing Spider-Man
Vol.1 #266 (ejected from castle by Dr.
Doom, became suicidal, is about to jump, but is saved by Spider-Man
who promises to be the man's friend (unaware that the man is Toad).
Toad is taken in by the police. Later when Spider-Man helps the
police capture two robbers, the Toad appears as well, helping
Spider-Man and the police. Spider-Man realizes that the man he saved
a few days ago was the Toad, who now wants to be his partner.
Spider-Man refuses to take the Toad on as his partner and leaves.
Toad standing on top of a building plans to set-up Spider-Man the
next day. Later the same day Toad goes to "Josie's" to hire
some men to attack Spider-Man the next day, they tells him that they
will be there the next day all 47 of them. Toad leaves, and discovers
someone following him. He threatens the young man unaware that the
young man is actually the Frogman. The next day Spider-Man meets with
the Toad, there the men hired by Toad comes to attack Spider-Man.
Toad to his surprise learns that there is only 9 instead of 47 and
most of them are drunk. Frogman also appears and while Spider-Man
begins to fight the men, Frogman and Toad begins to fight each other.
Suddenly Spider-Kid joins the fight between Frogman and Toad, on who
