Just replying to seeker's post because there is so much Avengers goodness to give posters here the heads up to... plus it saves me typing... some.

Incredible Hercules continues to be incredibly entertaining every month and this was no exception. Too many splash pages usually feel indulgent but there are 4 here and they fit in great! Fun PreviouslyPage as usual in...

I think this issue is somewhat recapturing the mythological feel of the first story arcs.
Even better. Curious how this Olympus Group is considered by the Council of the Pantheons shown in
Secret Warriors 10 and if it is before or after that ish.

Aside from some humor and action
Looking forward to the real Avengers action next issue too!

Pak and Lente were able throw in some stuff about how one defines a god. U. S. Agent dismisses the Olympians as just superhumans
Walker was spot on attitude. He gets as good as any of his Mighty Avenger showings so far - short of any fighting.

and Athena states something that separates gods from other superhumans, but at the same time how superheros are like them minus the immortality. I see what Athena is saying and I think she is right to a point. At the same time I can easily see not every god agreeing with that definition (Hera) and I think there are still enough physical differences between beings called gods and other beings, but in a way modern heroes are reflections of humanities hopes and fears.
Her discussion with Cho was thought provoking. It will be interesting to find out who proves the wiser of the two at the end of this arc. (Keep an eye on that waterbottle.)

Other highlights of the issue are the different strategies and tactics used by the Avengers to breach Hera’s fortress. It put that a comic writer can put thought into stories like this to come up with interesting stories.
Agree. Sentry Tower should be a tough and entertaining to breach.

Humor is not left out as we have Hercules and Hebe making up and Cho outsmarting some Amazons along with a neat Ghostbuster reference among others.
Spidey was really on his game plugging and Ghostbusters AND Chris Rock like that!
The stuff that seemed off included Pym with Wasp wings, Pietro so slow to change for the battle, Logan's dialogue felt off, and several MA missing from the roll call for this extreme offensive.

Hera’s Olympian monsters are an interesting mix. I recognize Argus, Typhon, Huntsmanand Dephyne. I think the spider is meant to be Arachne who has a grudge with Athena. I see what I think is supposed to be a harpy. I’m not sure who the lady with the large jaw and rows of sharp teeth is supposed to be. Probable some monster I have yet to hear up.
Can anyone recall any previous appearances, in this title, by any of these guys plus Thanatos?

One particularly funny scene is between Ares and Aphrodite. Let’s just say Athena was at least smart enough to take care of him.
Speaking of wraparound
, this ish has a must see cover.

Ares is too powerful and too much of a loose canon to risk in a battle like this. Thought I have to wonder if he knew the full extent of what Hera was planning if he would agree to it. We know from other issues that Hera and Ares for some reason do not get along and I don’t see how failing to answer Hera’s call to battle is going to improve that relationship.
More serious a problem would be if Karla Sofen wasnt monitoring the one night stand and gets jealous!

The ending of the issue promises a death of an Olympians, but we have no clue as to which one. I can’t help but think it is going to be Hebe. I can see her being played up to like only to be killed off. That and I can’t see her as an ongoing character. I would be Herc’s wife taking along an nagging him all the time.
With no evidence shown, its possible that Marvel is phasing the gods off the earthly plains like DC has done in New Teen Titans and/or LSH in the past. But then again Asgard is back on the Thor Sales Charts so they'd have to shunt that off the Midgard plane which seems unlikely ATM.

The Agents of Atlas back up story ended the monster assault a bit too quickly, but considering the page count I understand. One thing at least is they are noticing the increased Olympian activity lately and how it is all tied to Hera. I do wonder what Phorcys meant by a change in the cosmos.
Artwise, I think Rodney Buchemi did an excellent job. The look on Typhon’s face at the beginning and Hera’s when she told Hebe what she was planning were both perfect. I think he does get facial expressions well.
It was okay. Thinking of trying their vs. Avengers crossover mini - any good?
