Nah. Cable didn't even care about that. As near as I can tell, the writer wanted it to be circa the books of 2004 so he could use Armor and/or X23 from that time period. He's using times relative to real dates.

2017-13 = 2004

By this logic, FF#1 literally took place in 1961, and it's been 56 years.

Which isn't logic at all, of course, but lunacy.

But let me verify something. If I picked up comics that were published in 2004, I would find Laura and Armor in essentially the condition we saw them in the Cable story? This is how they were being depicted in 2004? Not in flashback but in what was then the present day?
