Subj: Can Someone Set Me Straight On Immortus? Is He The Same Character As Reed Richard's Father?

Okay, so Immortus is confusing to me (Obviously.). My understanding of him is that he's the Master Of Time who is Kang's younger self and that Kang is destined to become him, but they're separate entities. How is that possible? And here's something else. I recently bought (And am loving.) the big Ultimate Marvel book (I got a great deal on it. It's $40, and I got it for half off.), which details all of the characters, vehicles, locations and races of the Marvel Universe. Immortus's biography (On page 85.) says that he's Nathaniel Richards. Huh? Isn't that Reed Richards father? I haven't read too many comics with him, but the ones that I have read (Some during the Defalco run on Fantastic Four.) didn't have any connections to Immortus. Are they the same characters? And is he really all that villainous? He was responsible for Wanda turning dark the first time. How powerful is he? I'm not a big fan of the character, but strangely enough I am getting into Kang/Rama-Tut more.

Thanks for the help.
