Detective Comics 972
> “FALL OF THE BATMEN” part four! Batman might have overpowered the Victim Syndicate, but they had one last surprise for him: a secret weapon that’s made one of his strongest rogues nearly unstoppable!

The grabber image cover feels a bit over the top, misleading readers, as BW doesn't really consider her dad's offer using Ulysses' rifle as is - let alone even hold it. Although, to be fair she probably imagined that pose in her decision process. Or maybe this is another covers shuffle snafu and this is better suited to next issue.

It was a solid (penultimate?) chapter. Well except for Clayface's form, that is. ;\) Clayface's inner (and outer) turmoil neatly reflected how his untable mental state should be considering his condition. Orphan is predictably the one to stop him but it played out believably - for how long it lasted until the 'odd' Mudroom overflow factor kicked in.

First Victim earns a few evil villain personality points bossing around Anarky. Batwing and Azrael were chumps. Tim and Steph did some idle chitchat - revisiting the Evil Future Tim arc. Facetime appearances for the doc and mayor. And even Batman got a satisfying amount of panel space conisdering his background presence in Detective these days.

Nice covers and inside art. Variant:

Rebuttals? Were you entertained by how the players acted?
