Right now, Marvel's relaunching Captain America under Mark Waid's writing, and a new Falcon book is on the way.

I've said it before, it's time to build Captain America world. New supporting cast, new badguys, new agenda. Gruenwald did that when he took over the Cap books in the late 80s. Cap couldn't keep fighting the Red Skull and other Nazi baddies, so he came up with the Serpent Society, Batroc Brigade, Streets of poison, Bad girls, Flag smasher, Armin Zola, etc.
Stuff from the headlines, how stock market, corporate and banking firms crash that cause an economic crises across America (People loss their jobs and homes), how terrorists brainwash people to do their dirty work.

I thought the stuff happening with Sam Wilson Captain America book was great and entertaining. With Sam going back to the Falcon, lets see some new baddies for Falcon to deal with. There's that gangster, Stoneface, who messed with Falcon in Harlem and later in Africa (He helped Falcon get his wings working by pushing him off a cliff). Yeah, after the Hawkeye series, there's so many Gangsters in New York (Kingpin, Owl, Tombstone, Hammerhead, etc), but Stoneface can be jazzed up and changed to look new and fresh and relevant, while retain some history with Falcon.

I'm okay with current issues being addressed so long as its done in an even-handed manner.

The mistake Spencer made is that every story was an attempted hatchet-job on conservatives and a platform for him to express his own personal opinions about people he didn't like.

Didn't you feel that reading Cap books the last 2 years was like watching the WWe back in the early 2000, they were all lead up to the Pay-per-view spectacle every 2-4 weeks, the books were building up to a Comic event, and now Cap books are just sideline stories.

Certainly all of the events in Spencers run have led to the 'main event' that is Secret Empire. In that respect I think the WWE comparison is accurate, although you could say that about a lot of titles.

It's too little, too late. I stopped buying Captain America at the end of the Ed Brubaker run. It was the perfect "jumping off point" and appropriately enough, the last new Marvel Comic I bought.

I came here to the boards today to see if anybody was talking about that milkshake fiasco.
