I just remembered, there was a whole scene where Madame Hydra is gathering the new inner circle for Hydra and she meets with someone in shadows donning the armor to he the new kraken, and its implied to be someone we know. Is this unresolved?

Haven’t caught up on Secret Empire yet but I remember it was supposed to be someone who Cap believes to be dead. I wonder if it’s Daniel Whitehall, Jack Monroe, or William Burnside.

Cap knows that Burnside isnt dead. He say and read the bible to him at his bedside at the conclusion of the last story the character featured in written by Brubaker.

You are correct. Burnside was supposedly given a new identity after he left the hospital. Forget about that.

How about the original Dum Dum Dugan who supposedly died in 1966 (Infinity formula?) as the new Kraken?

Dum Dum has since been proven to be alive in suspended animation after his 'death'. Fury put him on ice then built a load of LMD's until a cure could be found.

Think that was revealed in USAvengers

'new' Kraken? I thought he was that blond haired, looked-a-lot-like-adult-Steve-Rogers, guy that talked young Rogers to return to Hydra school back in Reality-warped 1930s before WW2.
And he and Elisa/Madam Hydra were transported into the future when Rogers as Captain America/Hydra agent in 1944 got transported into the future when he/they thought the allies used a cosmic cube to win WW2 and warp reality from 44 to Secret Empire time.

I'm guessing Elisa/Madam Hydra and Kraken were the Elite Hydra Officers, and Zola, Viper, Hive, and Faustus (And his family) were middle-management.

Hey, Hydra got America working (Building Dreadnaughts and warships and serving in the Hydra armies), superheroes from beating up each other, protecting the population from monsters from outer space, ...and it only cost were the destruction of Las Vegas, death of Rick Jones, blackout of New York city, imprisoning Inhumans, shunting Mutants into unwanted lands, and Alpha Flight stuck in outer space.

Didn’t know. I further read the LMDs were driven by the original Dugan’s consciousness. Interesting.

Three more guesses : Roscoe Simons,Bob Russo, and 'Scar' Turpin. All 3 men assumed the Captain America identity when Steve became Nomad.

Roscoe was killed by the Red Skull, but Kraken might still be him or the two others I've mentioned.
