The script is maybe overly heavy with litigious details and elements - which may or may not have led to the cancellation of the last volume of She-Hulk. Understandably The Law is reportedly the writer's niche/background - just sayin'. Granted, the plan of Matt to have MASKED vigilantes be allowed to testify does have an intrigue about it - as entertaining possibility in the Marvel Universe. And DD is probably the first superhero to, IRONICALLY, meet the ANAD version of 'Jen-Hulk' outside of her new title. COINCIDENTALLY, the Return of Legal (that the writer introduced in said defunct She-Hulk series) appears as a potential DD enemy, and albeit pet character no doubt. We also see the 'new direction' for Fisk developing; his human punching bag was effectively dark and gross.
Nice cover. Not sure what to make of the big fight, though. Maybe CBMB can analyze it better. Jen's showing was dominant. DD's presence was missing (in his own book) but Matt managed to 'hurt' Lincoln... with a brick?!
What was less than pleasing was...
-The art and the poor mismatching coloring choices did not help.
-"LEGAL" -which is an annoyingly confusing codename- is presented, again outside any Iron Man title, as the most important... "legal" component of Stark's company. Yet he has zero believability factor for never having even been mentioned in IM titles. Plus, Stark's unique coma status and that company's patchwork guiding force (MJ, Friday, and MAmanda) would actually benefit if he is as good as he is reputed to be before quitting off panel.
-Tombstone so sorely badmouthing lawyers felt a bit... odd given his daughter, The Beetle, IS a lawyer. Not sure who was drawn worse: Tomby or Hulk-ette.
-NO SUPPORTING CAST, still. This is a big strike against. Sure, Matt misses Foggy for a moment but that's been going on for, seems like, forever now. Kirstie is effectively dumped and no other regular person has been there (for 23 issues!) to draw in readers. Unless, y'wanna count superhero and superabsent Blindspot.
