Subj: Deadpool #20: SEXY MAIDS!

Who knew?! That "Sexy Maids!" line really works to get anyone to open a door... or open a link! ;\)

Deadpool 020 (2016)

That (neatly placed) title page commentary was respectfully obliging to include the real world suicide helpline number; kudos to who first suggested including that perfect detail. This was a near perfect comic. From that evocative cover to that emotive last page. [Especially after last issue's annoying alt-interlude.] Recommendation: Take a moment to just read and be moved by Wade's struggle to deal with the poor girl's death wish struggles.

Deadpool entertains with his A-game which was particularly difficult considering the sobering subject matter. This Social Issue One-Shot was a MARVELous mix of sad and funny, and sour and sweet. And just when you expect the well-deserved happy ending... that SPLUTT sound F/X just before the last page was a (neatly placed) 'quickly-turn-the-last-page-to-find-out-if-this-turned-into-a-OH-NO!-SHE-DI'N'T?! effective teaser moment.

Danielle seemed to have intentionally undefined problems to serve as an amalgamated avatar for all the troubled souls out there. She's convincing and sympathetic and you will find yourself begging Deadpool to not screw up. She was a great character - even if we never see her again [nb. this does not -necessaaarily- the horrible mess that DP (or any cleaning maid for that matter) must bear witness to on the last page].
