Subj: Where do you rate the FF movies in regards superheroes movies as a whole?

I'm just talking right now, really. We can go back years to when the public actually cared about a Superman movie, or you can go back just ten years to a time when Marvel couldn't get a major hit movie with the Hulk.

For me, personally, I find the Marvel movies okay, but they're like corporate "product" IMO. Cinematic Big Mac, with extra cheese, all baked to the same formula. Watchable, and the odd genuinely decent one (I thought the Captain America movies were pretty good, and the first Iron Man.......... the others were OKAY, don't get me wrong, but I'm talking standouts).

I guess I'd say top tier were the Nolan Batman films. Well, the first two. But just under that I'd say, as a whole, the Fox X-Men movies. I say "as a whole", because obviously I'm not talking about Apocalypse or what have you, but when a film is a sustainable franchise it can contain a weaker movie.

But both the Fox X-Men and the Nolan movies are able to... to an extent... "surprise". They have a bit of an edge to them, a little darkness to Marvel's more colourful and predictable clashes.

So if Fox can do the X-Men so well... why can't they do the Fantastic Four?

I didn't mind the last FF movie, and there were others on here who didn't. I think they were about two of us. But even as its biggest "It wasn't THAT bad" supporter, I'd still put it lower than probably any Marvel movie. It's really bottom of the pile. Probably even lower than the stuff DC is cranking out.

Sorry, I'm rambling. What say you guys?
