Possibly the biggest development ever in the Arrowverse. Big Belly Burger gets a commercial!

I actually had a question about Big Belly Burger. In the 1st season of Arrow Big Belly Burger is like a sit down restaurant. Diggle's sister-in-law Carly is a waitress there and they are constanly going there and hanging out.

Since then though it has been portrayed like a fast food place. People dont usually eat there they just get the food and eat it back at the lab or the Arrowcave.

So which kind of a place is it? A fast food place or a sitdown place that does take-out?

Many fast food places enable you to go in, order and sit down. Like McDonalds and Taco Time. That's the way I view Big Belly Burger. It's the Arrowverse's version of McDonalds.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

When you go to McDonalds, Burger King, Hardees or Wendy's in your town do they not allow you to sit down and eat?

I doubt Big Belly Burger was ever meant to be a restaurant restaurant. It's fast food. Now in Harrison 2's reality the laws of fast food science may be different.

almost certainly fast food. The name alone implies the quality of food being prepared.

To me Big Belly Burger is the equivalent of Parks and Recreation's Paunch Burger

I'm going to have to rewatch Arrow's first season again to prove you guys wrong. \:\)

If for no other reason then to figure out why a fast food place would need a waitress.

I put my evidence in another reply on this thread.

Here is my evidence that Big Belly Burger was originally not a fast food restaurant, but was a chain diner.

Arrow Ep 3 Lone Gunman- Tommy, Diggle, and Oliver go into the restaurant Tommy says the Waitress is hot. What fast food place has a waitress? If you have a waitress it isn't fast food.

Ep 4 An Innocent Man- Carly brings Diggle his food. Oliver sits down with Diggle and Oliver tells him about his mission. Another waitress walks by writing on a pad. Meaning she had just taken an order. What fast food place has waitresses taking orders? Later in the episode Carly and Diggle talk at the restaurant again and Diggle has a black mug. What fast food place has real mugs?

Ep 6 Legacies- Oliver and his Mom eat at Big Belly. They have milkshakes in glasses. Moira says it's a really good burger and says "I bet Carter Boeings doesn't know how to find the best burger joint in Starling City."

Ep 8 Vendetta- Carly asks Oliver and Helena if she can get them anything else, like a waitress would say! They are drinking coffee out of mugs.

Ep 11 Trust But Verify- Ben Browder and Diggle drink coffee (out of mugs again) and Carly gives Ben a piece of cake. Ben leaves, but leaves Carly a tip. What the hell fast food restaurant do you tip a waitress?

Ep 15 Dodger- Carly says she's sorry it took her so long (to bring them sugar) but she'd been waiting on rowdy customers (some kids). Diggle and Oliver are sipping coffee out of mugs again. And Felicity is there at Big Belly for the first time.

That's it. That's the last time they used the set.

Ah so you're saying Big Belly Burger is more of a Steak and Shake than a McDonalds or Burger King. Interesting.

I didn't know Steak and Shake had waiters, but I guess it does. I only went there once and I wasn't impressed. I don't remember using a waiter. But maybe it was modeled after Steak and Shake.

I was thinking it was more like Johnny Rockets. There is even a jukebox located in one of the corners.

Also I forgot to mention it but, the chef preparing the food is out in the open, so you can sit at the counter and watch the guy prepare your burger on the grill.
