Just went to the comic shop looking for IM guest shots in other mags today and found a few that some long term fans (and new ones) may find interesting..

Remember when IM fought the Super Adaptoid-turned-into-Cyborg Sinister in Vol 1 issue 51? Remember how he was reduced to slag from a vat full of acid? How did the adaptoid reappear in other mags after this seemingly permanent defeat?

Well, I found Captain Marvel vol 1, #50. The first 11 pages was purely IM! We see IM testing a Jupiter Vehicle, all treads and arms (hmmm could this have been the forerunner to the Layton/Michelinie Jupiter Landing vehicle?)when he's attacked by another Iron Man - except this one is all green (classic Iron Man armor here) without a mouth slit. Its the adaptoid again! He explains Stark apparently took his acidic remains from issue #51 and placed em in a storage container to further analyze his AIM given powers at some future date, when an explosion at the plant (IM vol 1, #91 - remember all the sabotage back then?) cracked the container and the liquid remains of the adaptoid oozed free and he reformed, imitating workers until it was able to imitate Iron Man from afar. They battle tooth and nail, until the adaptoid rips the jupiter vehicle and hurls it at some Stark employees, which IM saves at the cost of the adaptoid escaping. - Ends up attacking the other Avengers, but Captain Marvel (seeing as its his mag) defeats him. Still it answered a long lost question of mine!

Marvel Two in One #97 - Thing and Iron Man.

Ugh!! Some goofy scientist creates a device that takes pictures of the past and creates a 3-d hologram, until the device overheats and pulls in the creatures it was picturing for real. So Thing and Iron Man take on...3 dinosaurs brought in from the past during the Thing's shooting of a movie. Talk about incredibly goofy! The art is so bad, the three dinos look like overstuffed Barneys! Oh well....
