.......before Tony was their common enemy or before he became Iron Man?

I certainly thought so.

That would be like finding out Viper and Red Skull had a son born before WW2.

Someone below just implied that Madame Menace (Sunset Bain) could be Ezekiel Stane's mother too.

Where was this hinted at?

Never. I just like the idea of Stane and Bain hooking up (plus it's certainly not illogical - she has a history of seducing power brokers and he has one of going after powerful, beautiful women).

How much do you want to bet she's some sort of genetic construct made at least partially with stolen Stark medical technology? It would explain how childish she acts: she's got a downloaded education, but almost no experience.

I had Mandarin do something similar on a roleplaying site, though my character being even younger than she looked was intended to be played for laughs rather than the horror of an intelligent and powerful baby.

IMO, none of them are interesting and totally depend on the reputation of previously established characters.

So, yes, these characters shouldn't even exist.

As a No Prize explanation, Mandarin & Justine Hammer probably knew each other because they were both in the supervillain biz & arms dealing.

Still, it is true that Sasha Hammer shouldn't be so old since Justine Hammer was quite young when she was the Crimson Cowl.

... and Justine was only created by Fabian Nicieza to provide the true identity of the Crimson Cowl created by Kurt Busiek.

In my opinion, these 3 characters are just random people who happen to have family ties with more famous villains.

Tony was the up and coming new generation that caused guys like Mandarin, Justin Hammer and Obidiah Stane, who were behind the times, to look like dinosaurs.

Now with the current Information Age, it kids like Ezekiel and Sasha who are more of a threat to Tony, by making him seem like a guy pass his prime.

Stark is the guy whose intelligence allows him to beat guys who have much more money and power wielded much more ruthlessly than he does. That's the fantasy of Stark: someone who is so smart that even if people with more money and power than him capture him and enslave him, he'll find a way to break his chains and fly out of that cave or labor camp or sweatshop. Someone like Zeke misses the point of Stark.

Justine looked like she was in her 30's. So I'm just going to assume she got knocked up while in high school. Probably why Justin didn't want her to inherit...shame of the family. Got knocked up as a teenager by a foreigner no less. No inheritance for her.

(speaking of Justine...Busiek's original plan for his Crimson Cowl was that she was Hank Pym's lab assistant Alice Nugent from Iron Man #194)

I think that's the point. He's a subversion of the type of foes Tony usually fights.

He's more of an argument than a character \:\)

I think the idea works better for Justine not Sasha.

Justine look like she aged 20 years between the Thunderbolt appearances and Iron Man appearances.

Which means that he works at best as a one and done villain...and those type of villains never grab you.

Look at Loki in the MCU...now that's a villain (partially) who just has staying power.

Yes, it shrinks Iron Man's universe when it should be expanded.
