Better than the last disappointing set up...
Heroes For Hire #10
Really good cover.
Characters were drawn well but the backgrounds were wanting. Its better than the opposite but still a balance is what makes an issue great. The evocative facial expressions were nicely done. Also, some recognizable inmates wouldve been more welcome.
Kilgrave seemed handled sadistically spot on.
Shroud taking the fight to the Darkforce Dimension was a smart move.
The impression of the F.I. fight feeds around the world is implied to be simultaneous. Not sure how logical they would/should line up timeline-wise - not sure one would want to concentrate on that detail to avoid annoyances. Maybe one could No-Prize think them as news footage - not sure who would be filming in Paris, though.
Why would Misty's arm look so robotic. Not that its good or bad, just inconsistent with her shown history, right? Ditto her (defeatistly) asking if there was any point in continuing the attempts to stop Angrir.
Yancy Street leveled?! Eep. Whatta revoltin development! Thing will 'die' after he's brought back when he sees the damage. Misty and her team are doing more for NYC than the Avengers, FF, and local heroes so far. For one underused example: Jackpot? Why not hire Jackpot?
Huh, didnt recall Gargoyle could REMOVE FEAR! He is missing his calling during this crisis of rampant fear! Him and Paladin going against the unknown was done well and the new boring monster-man introduced last issue has one heck of a power ability display to make one reconsider his presence. The defeeated duo should be in dead but some plot device will probably keep 'em alive - hope its a good one but have reluctance with that.
Back to The Raft, with no TBolts in sight for F.I.Timeline checkers. PurpleMan deciding to go into the Darkforce seems wrong but then Shroud probably allowed it. The cliffhanger is kinda what was anticipated since the cover but was fine payoff. Still, predicting that Elektra under his power is sooo staged.
