Honestly, I want to like this title, and I think that sometimes it is very well done.

But this latest issue might be it for me.

I realize that because it is an Infinity crossover we might not be seeing the best representation of the comic, but it was just lame. I think part of the problem is the inclusion of a potential new team member, Ren. They can't seem to find enough for Dani to do and not only have they included Elsa Bloodstone to the team, but now this new character?

Why is Dani so under utilized? Is she just there to try and draw in the mutant fans? Was she stuck on the roster against the writer's will?

I almost dropped the series after Dr. Riggs died but I liked how they resolved that issue. I guess I'll see how the series goes after this Infinity crossover nonsense passes.

I do agree about Dani, but it's going to be tough with such a cast.

I love that Elsa's around, and I'm really digging Ren, so far.

My problems with this series
- The art sometimes.
- I didn't really like how they killed Riggs or how they brought her back. Seriously? Having crazy Val kill her? Gah! And with such a huge cast already, having Riggs around to be Val's "alter ego" just seems to make it worse. It's more characters to deal with when you already have a ton on your plate. And now they're juggling sig.others too? Blech. The series would be better without Riggs entirely.

My opinion is that they are growing the cast too big and too fast. I started with this book because of Misty Knight (completely underutilized by Marvel for far too long) and Val (loved her since original defenders). Dani was just a bonus; I did a girly giggle when I learned she was part of the cast (loved her sinec her first appearance in New Mutants). These other people: Riggs, Elsa and Ren; I don't like. Granted, MVD have been in the Marvel universe for a long time, and their histories are well established. Still, they could use some more development. Concentrate on them for a while, then grow the cast, etc.

Marvel would get a heck of a lot more money from me if they could keep their crossovers straight (and on a limited basis).

Per certain media outlets, December 2013 will be the last issue.

I can't say I'm surprised, to be honest. You are right in that they expanded the cast too quickly. And the Infinity crossover issue did not help things at all.

I don't know. The cynic in me thinks sales would have been better if they had called it "Fearless Avengers" or "Fearless X-Men" and had more mutants on the team. \:\(
