Subj: Spider-Men II #2: Peter is how old?!
Posted: Thu Aug 17, 2017 at 04:24:41 pm EDT (Viewed 205 times)

Spider-Men II 002 (2017)

Not... unsalvagable but not pleased with it so far. The secret Peter's keeping will make or break the storytelling choices for this Milesquest. Just going to reply to some of the 0-Day fourchan reactions. What do YOU make of this mini so far?

Aright boys and girls here we go.

    is he stupid?

Sadly, we know nothing about his POV - for apparently storytelling mystery generating purposes.

At first I thought this was the Ultimate Taskmaster, but nope seems to be the prime Universe one.

Totally thought (still wish) it's Ult-Tasky.

I don't know why Bendis and Pachelli need to redesign every fucking villain that shows up in their books. This Taskmaster design sucks.

What's up with that badass (ugly looking) sword??! It that how he 'blasted' (poorly explained for storytelling surprise purpose) BOTH heroes thru that window??!

None of the panels in Page 1 seem to connect to any of the other ones?

The time stamp of "A WEEK AGO" didn't help. Another timeframe jumping Event? Sheesh.

However it seems that Tasky might have gotten a power boost because I don't recall him being on the level where he could throw Spiderman out the window

Bah. Is this AFTER his stint on HYDRA Avengers?

I knew it was going to be something stupid and disappointing.
I just held on to the foolish hope that they'd at least TRY.

Still undecided. Finding out Miles post-SW status is still important to me.

At the end of the first issue, Spidey actually seemed scared when Taskmaster shows up.
Spider-man will make a joke to Galactus' face and here he's "This guy will kill us both without breaking a sweat".

Get ready, the whole issue reads like that.

It's that timeframe jumping. Not laid out clearly.

How old is Miles supposed to be here? How old is Peter?

Yeah, What the--??! It would be very interesting to see online reaction to this after reading this age difference reveal!

Miles is supposed to be 16, while Peter is around 28. How Bendis came to "three years older" makes no &^%$ing sense.

Wait, if it's nothing then who's that adult Miles Morales who has that big ass scar across his face?

Well, that is clearly part of the secret Peter is keeping from Miles. And surprisingly Jessica Jones now too.

I'm not feeling this Taskmaster redesign. I feel like it is trying to hard to make him look scary.

It's the endless character retweaking that has undermined his Q-rating, IMO.

why did pete snap miles' neck to pull him from taskmaster?

That was... odd choreographed more SPACK than snap thwip. Then oddly that Pete said he webbed at Miles face (side).

I mean they went a little bit more then just saying "I found nothing on google"

"Starkle" not Google. ;\) MJ and Amanda and Friday must be doing better at keeping the company afloat than Tony in a coma-induced A.I.-existence imagined. Heh. Hmm... is this just a cheap namedrop 'gag' cuz Peter clearly used "Guggle" in the Recap.

The "T" on his chest looks a bit silly. It works on his shield, not on his costume.

For that matter, where is his shield?

At least Bendis has Peter treating Tasky like the real threat he is, and not like the jobber he's often forced to be.

How did her investigation lead her to getting punched by a red hulk(?) and licked by Madam Hydra?

Those various one panel snapshot moments each look like more "fascinating" unexplained untold adventures than this mini is panning out so far.

She even had to suffer through a conversation with Moon Girl to find nothing

That was the most... unlikely contact to arrange. Maybe she should've asked Black Cat who would be the smarter choice!

I think that is the intention now. Maybe his old version got removed through magical crap?

This whole Universe 8 switchover stuff is beginning to come to bite the MU in the behind - as it was inevitable. Maybe Ultimates 100 will help clear things up... Reading that next.

Thought history was altered so that Miles always lived in 616.

That's seems how his series has misled us all this time. (In spite of all my posts for answers to this since post-SW's ANAD. ;\) )

After this the posts pretty much degenerated into bitchfest for the sake of bitching about everyone associated and reading this series. Lots of swear words but oddly no one used Peter's new choice curse: WHEATCAKES! No point in copy/pasting that hate for haters sake.
