Subj: The Kents died in a car accident?!

I read Doomsday Clock and this figured prominently at the end of the issue.
I *really* don't like that this New52 idea hanging around.
The death of the Kents is not supposed to be some guilt-inducing violent event like the death of the Waynes or the the death of Ben Parker.
Simply, the Kents die of old age. Period!
Their death shows Clark that he can't save everyone and he has limits. But he will remember the lessons of parents as he continues on into adulthood. Indeed, it's a marker of sorts for his adulthood and maturity.
No car crash, no tropical virus retcon, no ridiculous tornado sacrifice, no Brainiac related death. Just natural old age!
Further, this speaks to why the Kents should be older when they find Kal-El; NOT sexy(!) young parents.
As usual, SUPERMAN THE MOVIE gets it right.
