Subj: Jim Lee's AC 1000 image is awful. . .

Seriously, this is the best they can do for a promo/cover for AC 1000? I've said it before, but Jim Lee is only a marginally better Rob Liefeld and his work was only really strong for the 90s X-Men relaunch.

Yeah, Jim Lee is fan favorite (and corporate honcho), but this is phoned in generic garbage. It's supposed to convey a classic optimistic look, but instead Superman just looks. . .creepy, squat and neckless. Those short little boots and the anatomy is just off.

Give a cover to Garcia-Lopez and he'll take Jim Lee to school on anatomy and technique.

Here's hoping that the variants by Rude, Bermejo, and others are up to the task. But having 8 variants to me is an ugly and cynical cash-grab thing like the "Unchained" debacle.

Remember the great Superman 400? One cover and and art gallery of images from great artists in the back. You didn't have to buy multiple copies to get ALL the art.

The new material from Swan and S&S will make this thing worthwhile, regardless.
