https://www.newsarama.com/38806-fresh-star-thor-brings-back-odinson-in-title-role.html?utm_source

Odinson is reclaiming the mantle of Thor in an all-new renumbered Thor #1 launching on June 13. Long-time series writer Jason Aaron is continuing on with this title, welcoming in his Secret Wars: Weirdworld collaborator Mike Del Mundo.

“On the one hand, I still feel like I’m writing the same Thor story that began six years ago in the pages of Thor: God of Thunder #1. But at the same time, God of Thunder had a very different look and feel and focus than Jane Foster’s story,” Aaron said.

“And even though Thor Odinson is now reclaiming his mantle, this new volume will also be going in a very different direction. Thor has a completely new status-quo. Actually the entire landscape of his corner of the Marvel Universe has been changed in the wake of the ‘Death of the Mighty Thor’ arc in Mighty Thor. But there’s still a War of the Realms raging, and Thor isn’t looking to stand on the sidelines.”

In this new story-arc, Thor is tracking down various Asgardian artifacts that have been scattered across Earth - with long-time X-Men villain Juggernaut also looking to utilize those same artifacts.

“I’m super excited about this new journey!" said Del Mundo. "Working with Jason on Weirdworld was so much fun and badassery and I’m getting that same excitedness and feels with this new Thor series - with added thunder!”

Mike Del Mundo the artist of the upcoming Thor series does not appeal to me at all, I’ve read a few comics where he happened to be doing the artwork and I remember thinking how much I hated that art. On the bright side, I am beyond stoked that Thor will actually star in the War ofthe Realms. I hated the idea that he would sit on the sidelines while Jane fought a war basically between his entire mythos. Will Aaron screw it up? Probably. Is this better than having Jane star in the book? Definitely.

Missed an important paragraph...

https://news.marvel.com/comics/85219/god-thunder-back-thor-1/?linkId=48544020
THOR #1, written by Jason Aaron with art by Mike Del Mundo, sees the start of a new mission for the God of Thunder. The artifacts of Asgard have been scattered across the Earth, and to reclaim them, Thor will have to face some ugly truths…Like the production cost of hundreds of new hammers! And he’ll need every last one of them if he’s going to stop the unstoppable when none other than the Juggernaut joins the fray.

I don't get it, how can a person claim his own mantle when he is the mantle and his name is Thor. That self loathing that Aaron is projecting onto Thor is nauseating. Thor was so whipped that he didn't even want his own name, really?  My attitude is my name is Thor and if you don't like it get your own this one is taken.

OMG here we go again with another messed up arc.

Why won't this guy just go away. He's like a bad rash that won't go away.

I've seen this guy's art work. I'm not a fan in the least.

More bad news, it seems that they are never going to end.

I love see Thor back, but with Aaron behind this can only result in disaster.

Aaron needs to go and the art is garbage.

I'm unfamiliar with the artist. Can anyone provide a link with any of his work?

But Aaron was good on Thor when there was no Jane.

Not really, he practically ripped off Jurgens (Desak, the amputated left arm and missing eye). Just like Jane's helmet was ripped off from DeFalco/Frenz and Masterson helmet/Thor's battle Armor. Most recently with Jane's husband and son dying in a car accident.... DeMateis in Chaos War Thor with Becca's backstory.

I fail to see any good, I rather have Fraction back than endure any more of this ass clown and NOW... he is going to bring his crap into the Avengers as well.

The greater the number of Mjolnirs, the less unique and interesting Thor becomes. I guess you could say the more Thors there are, too, if you see the world the same way Aaron does.

I guess he's trying to bring his "Thors" mini-series dynamic into the 616 (or whatever it is now).

Rampant speculation with no evidence on my part.

He's been on the book for way TOO long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aaron needs to be shown the door like Alonso, but now he is being given Avengers as well.

King Kirby is rolling in his grave.

NOT what I was expecting. Guess it'll be a WFT book for me. Looks like a 60's water color comic. Good for something quirky but not the GoddaThunda.

Why is Thor looking like he's spinning twenty different hammers/weapons? Hopefully it's just artistic interpretation or it could mean that all Mjolnir like weapons from all realities have been combined into one weapon which could explain why Mjolnir is gold now.

I'm going to venture a guess... Jane won't die and will retain Mjolnir, while Thor himself will pick up some new form of weapon (weapons?) that will have abilities similar to Mjolnir.

I feel we'll be stuck with Jane so long as Aaron is at the helm. I don't understand the hype around him.

You nearly had me sold until you mentioned Fraction. I HATE FRACTION!!!

He was the one who introduced the whole SWJ feminist movement in Thor to begin with!

See now you went ahead and got my blood to boil.

NOW you see my point; but at least with Fraction: we had Thor.... INTACT (NO missing arm or hair), Mjolnir.... INTACT (NO Mother Storm garbage that crapped all over Simonson and Stormbreaker and De Falco and Thunderstrike) , and less stunt/gimmicks based B.S. than we have had for the last 3 plus years.

Really?

I damn well didn't recognize him.

Physically, maybe.

But as far as attitude/speech/personality is concerned, I have no idea who was holding that hammer but it damn well wasn't Thor. I mean, when did Thor EVER say something like---"You were always a pain in the @$$."

Who in the Hel approved that speech pattern for Thor??

You know dude...I can see this happening.
But I will probably continue to not buy any Marvel comics until I see for sure that Aaron isn't continuing with his agenda or Marvel is truly moving away from forcing an agenda.

But I will still find a way to read the comic...I just won't buy it. I want to find out how messed up Marvel will still be with writers like Aaron around.

This being said, I hope Mjolnir isn't destroyed somehow. Ultimately, I still believe, one day, Thor (the REAL Thor...the guy whose name is Thor...Aaron/Marvel/Disney you stupid ***) will wield Mjolnir again, sans the stupid storm concept. Maybe it won't be now, but I bet he will.

And the arm? It will be back.

The beard? It will be gone.

The locks? Long, golden, and flowing again.

Today's Thor is not the one I grew up with that Thor is gone and I'm afraid forever.

This picture is and always will be my Thor.
