Subj: Why should Zeus and the Olympians intervene in the War of the Realms?

Jane wants Hercules to convince Zeus to have Olympus to intervene in the War of the Realms. She says it is the "right thing to do" implying some sort of moral obligation.

A bit of playing devil's advocate, but why should Olympus intervene?

1. Why should Zeus risk the lives of his people in an open-ended foreign war against an enemy that is not currently a threat and intervening gains Olympus nothing?

2. Thor and Freya's failed policies allowed Malekeith to obtain power, start, and spread the war. Why should Olympus fix their mistakes?

3. The Nine Realms fall under the purview of Asgard. It is their responsibility. Why should Olympus intervene if Asgard is unwilling to do so when the mess is in their own back yard?

4. War Thor could have ended the whole mess until Jane stopped him. Why should Olympus intervene when Jane already had a chance? How does Zeus know she won't turn on Olympus if she finds their means unacceptable?

5. It is highly unlikely Jane has any respect for Zeus or the Olympian gods given how attitude toward Odin and gods in general. Why should Zeus come to the aid of someone who despises him?

6. One reason WWI spread was the countries of years were locked together in a series of alliances that turned a relatively minor incidenct into a world-wide war. If Olympus gets involved what is to prevent Malekith from spreading the war by allying with Pluto or the Titans? What about Malekith going to other pantheons and trying to get help such as the Fomor or Seth?

7. Why the Olympians? Why not the Celtic or Egyptian gods?

This is may sound cruel, but I think Zeus for the most part should stay out of it. He can send in a few volunteers such as Hercules and Ares to fight on the ground. Athena may be a type of tactical advisor. Yet, large scale involvement should be avoided. Instead, the threat of it could be used to pressure Malekith to keep the war contained.
