Subj: Rucka out

Can't really say that I'm surprised by the news giving what's going on in the industry, but I am a little disappointed. Just when I was getting used to 'this' version of Diana..there is a new Diana right around the corner. Not that she won't be great, but she will be different. *sigh*

With the double issues and two different time periods, Rucka did stick around for the equivalent of 2 yrs; but it still seems too short of a stint. Was I crazy to think he would at least match his last tenure of 3 yrs? It probably is more lucrative for him to concentrate on his creator owned properties (love his (Lazarus).

HOWEVER, this jumping around is a disservice to the WW fans. Just when we (I) get used to a concept (granted it is not universal as evidenced by the weird WW portrayal in the Titan's Annual) it is to be taken away. This is not a knock against the new writer and artist, whom will probably do a great job given their WW experience. I just tire of the lack of consistency. Azz -Finches-Rucka and all with VERY different takes on the character. Editorial needs to get their act together. I'm sure that Rucka garnered a decent wage, but if they are anything like the rest of corporate america they need to also look at the working conditions (would it be so hard to get a guest writer in once in a while...they d it with artists?!?!).

Am I asking too much of comic books? Maybe it's just time for me to stop buying the books. *sigh*
