They didn't stay true to Diana's origins at all. Not her true origins, anyway. That's not even touching upon the other numerous problems with the film and the way Diana was depicted. One glance at her Post Crisis/New Earth run and anyone can tell the big screen Diana is not even recognizable as Wonder Woman. The movie definitely was a step back. It's truly sad that those who shot back at Cameron failed to understand that.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

Wonder Woman was great. Gal Gadot was great as Wonder Woman. It wasn't the traditional Golden Age Wonder Woman story, but I don't really want Wonder Woman joining a side show where her manager takes advantage of her and taking the identity of a crying nurse.

James Cameron's notion that beautiful women can't be powerful is pretty much wrong and sexist. And your notion that you can't recognize Wonder Woman in that movie means that you're not really watching it or you don't understand Wonder Woman.

Oh I understand Wonder Woman just fine.

-Diana was created from clay, she's NOT a daughter of Zeus. That whole daughter of Zeus makes her Hercules with boobs and makes her just a rip off of another character instead of her own unique character, which the clay origin gave her. This origin proves the writers (Both New 52 and the movie) do NOT understand the character.

-Diana may be a warrior but she doesn't need a sword and shield to battle her enemies. She's an ambassador of peace. Wielding a sword and shield into battle does not convey that. She didn't need those weapons for decades and fought her fights just fine without them. If it ain't broke, and this wasn't, don't fix it. BOTH the movies and comics have done this now and has been for the past 6 years. Proof they don't understand the character.

-Diana isn't some skinny super model, she's an Amazon Warrior. Gal Gadot does not convey that and neither does her poor acting skills.

-Diana is a MODERN Super-Hero not Captain America.

This list goes on. Plus, I have almost her entire Post Crisis run, so don't tell me I don't understand the character when I do. More than the movie writers ever have or will.

Wonder Woman is a good action flick, but as a Wonder Woman movie it fails on every account.

To reiterate again, I have a right to my opinion. If you don't like it, then don't read it!

...but I also have a right to be on the boards and tell you how wrong that is.
