Well, figuratively 'no bite', since there was all that literal biting in the alt-flashback...

X-Men - Blue 012

No wonder so much narrative was given to Bloodstorm last issue! Her secondary mutation is to kill originality in Marvel's X-Universe She gets an very inordinate amount of dedicated facetime here too. All because she becomes the newest reimagined X-men member to join Blue Team - also, as an alt-version of iconic X-men line-up member, herself, to join the O5. She has an OML-like traumatic origin kiling all "her" timeline's X-men. Then to top the uninspired direction, she ends the ish with a cloying twist on the classic UXM#138 cover blurb.

Magneto's and his senior staff were useless.

The Raksha were wanting. But to be fair they ran successful interference while Tyke and Jeen babied each other.

So, it ends up that all along that demonbeast Hank could simply willed himself not to be such a dimwitted dumbledork danger? Or are was it Bloodstorm's common sense suggestion to just plain stop. Or maybe we read into that panel, waaaaay between the lines, that she also whispered a hypnotic command (as per standard vampire)?

The whole "melty Blob" subplot is still not impressive. The whole retained fiery wings concept -and burn the bad guy bit- is still confounding.

Goblin Queen was acceptably full on evil but otherwise this issue was a big bust. Bringing Bloodstorm on board? Bah! As if it wasn't already impossible for Marvel to write a good vampire X-men tale with resident Jubirella.

The only really good thing here, would have been the gorgeous Art Adams cover! (Which ironically is a copy, too, of one of my favorite New Mutants Emma/Hellions cover - also done by him!) However the fact that Ms.Sinister was still only behind the scenes gets the image choice a nitpick too.
