Sigh. Alright, let's get this over with...

X-Men Gold 020

1pg - Actually, it was a very good first page. Ignoring the fact that Ro was thrown clear of the crash with access to a protective wrap ([sarcasm]not to mention the change of clothing she tried on to pose for the cover[/sarcasm]). And someone will have to remind me how come her powers work in places other than Earth sometimes but (she believes) not a planet like this one.

2pgs - To spotlight Ink up the ying yang even more this ish. Wow, that was some crash if his piece of the ship landed 'miles away'. At least Kurt has a serious injury to make the tension believable..

1pg - Add some colorful 'Logan' dialogue. Decent lines for a movie scene.

1pg - And now Piotr has a serious injury to make the tension believable. Pretty neat sandstorm solution by Kitty. So far so good.

2pgs - Powerless Storm vs giant 'Dune' worm is the entire action for the ish. Lone superhero against overwhelming foe. Typical superhero action for this medium so it's fine in that sense. Storm is normally capable. It just felt a little less convincing than, say a scenario like, Powered-up Storm vs a giant Sentinel.

1pg - Ink fixes Kurt easypeasy deusmachina breezy.

1pg - Dramatic 'Colossus dying' scene. It looked believable. And laudible set up motivation for last page impulse surprise.

1pg - Ink psi-links rejoining team easypeasy deusmachina breezy.

3pgs - Ro has a decent showing for a change. Helps Kitty save Piotre. See, X-men surviving a plane crash doesn't have to be that bad. And he didn't even have (or apparently was able to) metal up - so, we can pretend it was part of his power fluctuating NOT-forgotten subplot along with being almost dead obviously.

2pgs - Kurt not only wants to be an ace pilot, he wants to be a expert transdimensional technician too. Plus, Ink goes off to play human cargo flyer to get Piotr back for med aid, easypeasy deusmachina breezy. Presumably - speed wasn't a factor and he was less tired than the girls and carried him at their speed to ease their way back since they arrived together. Meanwhile Kurt was being techy and OML was still standing around and jibbering with Hisako *rolls eyes*.

1pg - Storm proves the writer wrong. She has a spark afterall. She thought Logan would be proud of her against the worm but he probably would have instead told her to snap out of it and lightning bolt it. Well at least they didn't have Ink charge the thingamajig.

1pg -2 days later. Mansion still being repaired. No word on Prestige's condition. Everyone (and readers) learn how much easier it is to target transdimensional jumping compared to landing a ship. Everyone smiling - so your basic happy ending back in Central Park.

1pg - Kitty turns the table. Isn't it romantic? Is it romantic? They did seem to put more effort into the visual that the rest of the servicably drawn ish. Maybe she should have got Ink to create some fireworks that he, no doubt, could have pulled off easypeasy.
