Jessica Jones 015 (2018)
A very weak cover (belated, really) choice for an otherwise strong full issue protagonist/antagonist conversation/negotiation. Sure, Kilgrave is a one trick pony (now with his own lame "Wolverine Immortality Power" revealed) and sure, it's ironic how he brags about 'making Jessica Jones' the name she is today, when the opposite is also the case - but their personalities shone as their words "rang true" to character.
Purple Man is a good and creepy supervillain. As usual better footnoting or backstory should be offered to Marvel zombie readers because his last Purple Kids arc in the pages of DD never got satisfying followup. Also, if he's going to be among the characters that uses brackets in balloons then that's fair game for pet peeve griping. So, is this one said:
in same tone as sidebar? under his breath or in whisper to be heard or not heard? or completely just a private thought minus a thought bubble?
It was interesting plan to see the 3 that JJ brought in on this but with challenging presumption of backstories known to readers:
1. Kraven is on Mayor Fisk's payroll as authorized (meta)manhunter or was Carol's comment about his Prison Hall Pass not facetious and his chronology is not caught up?
2. Nick Fury Jr. is an odd choice too with SHIELD absolutely disbanded. Yet, the ex-agent is apparently still clandestine capabale and freelance operating on call?
3. Captain Marvel is (annoyingly) portrayed with still having some degree of authorization -or at least unforknwon pull- to assemble the Avengers on a dime.
The whole showdown between Jess and Zeb was enaging and visceral. An upcoming superclash between "Power Woman" and Captain Marvel seemed inevitable (predictable?) but promising and hopefully worth checking out next ish.
