I didn't read the book at the time (I didn't really read West Coast when it was running.), but I remember Byrne (Who had the classic run on the book.) saying (On his message board.) that he had a big story coming up that would touch upon the Avengers history with Magneto, AND that Peter Parker was going to be a big part of the story. This sounds interesting. Editorial rejected it, not sure why. After he left, Roy Thomas did a story with Immortus and time traveling, was that much different than Byrne's? If I recall correctly, that changed the Vision back to his regular old self. It had Wanda being possessed by Immortus (Didn't he also control Iron Man into going bad during The Crossing? What's up with this guy?), and I remember Agatha Harkness having to come in and save the day. Would anyone else liked to have seen Byrne do his story? It would probably have been better than Roy's. Thanks.

To this day I want somebody to unwrite everything Byrne did with the Whackos.

This goes into some detail:

I just say no.
