There are definitely some people out there who think that (And have written.) he is the best Batman writer, and I just don't get it. Morrison did some good stories, but compared to his body of work on the whole, his Batman is some of his weakest. And in my opinion, he brought in or back Silver Age stuff that was best left forgotten. I wouldn't say that his run was great. I think that he did a better job writing Dick as Batman than he did Bruce. But I'm really struggling to see how Morrison defined the character, or how he trumps Miller, O'Neill, etc for the best writer EVER! If anyone thinks that he is or isn't, can you please elaborate as to why? Thank You.

I liked some of his Batman stuff. He's a big idea guy but not so great with the follow through maybe?

He's one of those writers who likes to deconstruct and subvert the mythology of whatever character he's working on. And some of that IS interesting but at the end of the day it isn't a good BATMAN story.

Denny O'Neil and Chuck Dixon didn't need to do any of that fiddly high concept stuff to do good Batman stories IMO (wait were they involved in No Man's Land...I may have to eat my words).

I never got into Batman Inc. but that run somewhere around Batman #666 with the Kubert art...I admit I genuinely did like that bit and found it interesting.
