I don't watch Gotham anymore (TERRIBLE show), but this is AWESOME news. I never did like "Jerome" because giving the Joker an origin just ruins his mystique. I have nothing against the actor who plays him, he does a good job with the role but his character was never the Joker for me.

I'm glad Fox recognized the Joker needs to be a little mysterious. I just hope they get someone who will be great for the role, but preferably someone who isn't too old like a lot of the actors are on this show for the characters they are supposed to be playing.

I stopped watching a long time ago, this series really stinks.

However I will say this: despite its glaring problems, the series does not need the actual Joker in it.

The Joker is supposed to be the polar opposite/antithesis to Batman

Bad enough Bruce is now essentially Teen Batman from what I hear, we do not need Teen Joker.

Jerome was brought back just to cash in on the Joker phenomenon and recent story of Joker cutting his face off, and of course Dark Knight Returns.

What they need/should do is give some more focus on the Red Hood. As I recall the red hood was found by someone and is still out there somewhere.

Just have someone or multiple someones in the Red Hood as it gets passed around from one to another until finally the fateful day when Batman faces the Red Hood in the chemical plant.
