I love the story and I was totally convinced by the actors.
It is very respectful of the works of Lee, Kirby, Mc Gregor & Priest.
I only have two minor complaints.
The first complaint would be about the final fate of one of the main antagonists.
I was surprised that his body was used as a Trojan horse in the plot and, thus, that his final fate was revealed to the watchers. I thought that he would become one of the (few) recurring villains of the MCU (like Loki).
Except if some contrived device is later used to make him come back (Vibranium's energy + Heart-Shaped Herb + Necropolis ? Soul Infinity Stone ? Resurrection Altar ? All these ideas combined ?), he is supposedly deader than disco (although disco is not really dead thanks to Abba). So, why hire such a fan favorite actor as an antagonist only to kill him so easily ?
The 2nd complaint would be about some of the messy fight scenes during the last quarter of the movie. I have the feeling that these scenes were requested by the producers and that the director did what he could to please them. The last fight between the two main opponents was particularly hard to follow. Also, Everett Ross stopping the planes (drones ?) from leaving Wakanda seemed like some kind of obligatory scene to explain why the character was in the movie in the first place.
(NB : When you think about it, both Ross & Klaue were labelled as colonisers in the movie but were not really portrayed as such in any of the scenes ... I suspect that the producers didn't allow the director to delve deeper into the subject because it is a blockbuster. Still, there was an undeniable level of freedom granted to the story, compared to usual blockbusters, and it is refreshing.)
Anyway, except these 2 minor complaints, Black Panther may have become my favorite MCU movie. Notably, T'Challa, Killmonger, M'Baku and Okoye are all awesome.
The story is very cohesive & coherent and, yet, at the same time, it borrows some of the most interesting concepts from the previous MCU movies (Iron Man 1 & 3, Captain America 1-2-3, Thor 1 & 3, Avengers 1 & 2, Spider-Man Homecoming, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange ...).
It is very impressive directing and storytelling.
NB : BTW, I am glad that the Hatut Zeraze are in the movie (Dogs of War in the comics / War Dogs in the film).
