I'm a long time Marvel fan....parents bought me my first comic in 1977...I was 3. Over the past few years, I have dwindled my Marvel buying drastically....concentrating only on current Spider-Man and Silver Age Marvels and DC's. I thought about getting back into more modern Marvel and picked Captain America: Steve Rogers as one my choices. But I have a question....any answers or thoughts will be appreciated...don't worry about 'spoiling' anything for me: In Avengers #44, Commander Steve Rogers dies (this is just before Secret Wars). How then is he (and many other characters) alive in current stories? I remember reading that between Secret Wars #9 and the current run of books that 8 months had passed. Has any explanation been given yet as to how all of the heroes (and villains) are alive. Amazing Spider-Man has not touched on this at all, so I am completely in the dark. Or is this just another Marvel-let's-ignore-it-and-hope-nobody-saved-any-comics-from-12 months-ago-Coverup?
Again, I appreciate any help that is offered
(Wait, Cap is an agent of Hydra???....)
The entire Marvel Universe was rebooted in the events of Secret Wars, so everything is back the way it was with some minor differences.
We are still yet to be informed exactly what happened in the missing 8 months, and I'm not sure theres any intention from Marvel to show us.
'Secret Wars' has become the go-to excuse for anything that doesnt make sense in the current Marvel Universe. In truth almost nothing has changed, but if something appears out of continuity then Marvel can just blame Secret Wars without offering any further explanation.
