Spencer stated that he would asnwer the question of why, if Cap was Hydra all along, he continued to fight for the Allies - and he did that to my satisfaction.

I was less satisfied with the suggestion that anyone Cap interacted with in his new altered history was also somehow effected by Kobiks cosmic whammy. The implications of this make my head hurt.

Overall, I have never thought this to be a bad story in principle - its just a bad Captain America story because he either comes to his senses on his own and cant live with all the terrible things he's done, or Spencer just cosmic cubes it all away again, in which case yaaaawwwwnnnn!

It's hinting that Madam Hydra is Elisa, that lady that's warping Steve as a child, ....

Remember Madam Hydra from those 3 Steranko Cap books waaaaay back in the 60s, ...she was blown up in an explosion, ...and then the Space Phantom resurrected her for the Serpent Crown-Viper-Nomad run in the Steve Englehart Cap no more, Secret Empire run in the 70s.

My speculation is that when Space Phantom plucked her out of reality before that explosion killed her, she was stuck in Limbo and used by Kubik to rewrite Cap/Steve Rogers into a Hydra agent. Or Kubik could've saved her from that explosion, and Madam Hydra thought it was Space Phantom that saved her.

Wow, ...Soooo COSMIC!!!
