Captain America: Steve Rogers #15

Only 8 of the 20 pages were cloying flashbacks to Kobik's maybe/maybe-not altered-past events - so, that would have meant the book cooould have been less than half bad at best. BUT, then they tag on THREE pages of MORE (recent) flashbacks that recount Uncanny Avengers #22 (released the same day mind you) that readers are instructed to read in the Recap Page anyways. Sheesh.

As to the 1/2 of the book "that mattered": The escape of the Red Skull (sadly between issues and NOT shown) just makes one question SHIELD's shameful blundering as their Top Cop Rogers didn't even report it and the very politically controversial (debatable?) military power play that SHIELD unilaterally is allowed to execute against SyriaSokovia right now. Besides those 2 story parts, the main event was the final showdown between Captain and Skull which was quite engaging (and forboding with the HYDRA Council ready for next ish). There are so many other balls up in the air right now and Secret Empire around the corner - those damn ephemeral flashbacks are eating up prime juggling time.

Here's more reaction posts from others on 0-Day...

Red Skull could reach Hydra!Cap's mind anywhere, at any time.
He had low level and blasts. There's also more than just reading minds.

Cube Girl venerates Red Skull yet creates a perfect Hydra world where he's the villain of Steve's crusade...

Kobik loves HYDRA™, Kobik made HYDRA™ a part of Steve's life. Whatever happens to Skull is irrelevant because Skull is not HYDRA™.

The Red Skull thinks Cap is on his side. Cap instructs the Uncanny Avengers to capture and immobilize the Red Skull. Now that the RS lost his psychic powers Cap can kill him.

    Anonymous 04/05/17(Wed)11:24:35 No.91298010
So Steve, Elisa and Zemo are essentially the only remains of not-nazi/Red Skull Hydra in the past. Going by the spoilers for Secret Empire they'll probably eventually let the Allies rewrite reality out of disgust towards the Red Skull.

    Anonymous 04/05/17(Wed)11:28:33 No.91298114
    kobik's a genie, not a demiurge.

    Anonymous 04/05/17(Wed)11:29:47 No.91298144
It's not a plot hole. Skull asked her to make Steve Hydra but did not ask her to make Steve loyal to him. And for him to remain Steve he was never going to side with Skull.

    Anonymous 04/05/17(Wed)11:31:53 No.91298197
Crossbones and Sin weren't really loyal to "the dream" or Hydra.

    Anonymous 04/05/17(Wed)12:44:33 No.91299734
    That's cold, Sin.

To be fair, their relationship has always been pretty strained. He is an abusive ass that wanted a son after all.

    Anonymous 04/05/17(Wed)12:48:44 No.91299857
Okay, I know this comes up every month, but it bears revisiting: You DO understand that what we're seeing here isn't real, even in-continuity, right? This is literally just an illusion of a memory created by the Red Skull for the benefit of one man.

    Anonymous 04/05/17(Wed)14:27:41 No.91302196
So how long before Zola clones RS again?

Why are you people still buying this title?! The sooner this "Captain America: Hydra Agent" nightmare ENDS the better!

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?
