Captain America - Sam Wilson 021

A very believable, organic and heartfelt way to give up the mantle of Captain America. Sam will only benefit from this move after this mostly recounting issue. Nice speech and letter, by him, with homage to a notable Marvel tradition of "quitting" moments. Misty is shocked -if not more- with his decision. Now, we just have to get (the upset) Joaquin to "give back the Falcon" to let Sam have a do-over with that mantle. That, and sit thru the potenital intro and one-shot death of ANAD Patriot: the next wannabe Captain America - Rayshaun.

I really liked his justification for giving up the mantle. I remember when he first became Cap I was worried because to me he's better as his own man. But maybe being Cap reinforced that even more. Maybe he had to be Cap to see that he can't be the idealistic fence sitter Steve was. Falcon has opinions about how screwed up the country is but as Cap you apparently have to advance the idea that the system works...even though it doesn't.
