I dont like the idea of a writer doing something ridiculous just because he knows hes got a magical mcguffin he can use to wipe the slate clean whenever he wants.

Its a lazy alternative to actual quality storytelling thats the equivalent of waking up after a fall in the shower to realise it was all a dream.

It is lazy storytelling. But it's better that this particular story have a cosmic reset no?

Only because its the most effective way to make it all disappear, then we can all forget that it ever happened in the first place.

It just pisses me off that Spencers pitch was probably to cause maximum drama, upset, and histeria, with the sole intention of just wiping it all clean at the end of it.

The man himself along with Alonso revelled in the early bad press, and very much went down the line of 'no such thing as bad publicity'.

The end result meanwhile is that neither of Spencers Cap books have been commercially successful, and #1 of Secret Empire sold less than the first issues of Civil War II, IvX, and Secret Wars - so these two dipshits get to forever more be known as the guys who turned Cap into a fascist, and they dont even get any sales to show for it.
