Yeah! How come there are no comments on this issue yet??
Cap's back damn it!
It was a pretty good issue, a little bit too done-in-one for me, but I'm guessing Waid might be setting up the new evil organisation Cap will be fighting - a sort-of hybrid between the Watchdogs and Hydra - RAMPART.
It was fun, well-done, and uses Cap's history to some extent - further solidifying that this is the Cap we all know and love.
However, I do feel that it slightly glosses over SE to an extent, as this issue shows primarily shows the people whom still have reverence and faith in Cap, and believes that he was replaced by a fake. (which I suppose is true, to an extent)
I got the feeling that this issue was mostly a message to the fans from Waid, how he's aiming to do a more hopeful, classic Captain America - a bit like what he did with Daredevil.
We'll probably get more on the repercussions of SE in future issues, but still, it was enjoyable for what it was.
I'm excited to hear what YOU - the super-hard-core, most devoted of Cap's fans think though! = )
Did anybody else read it? What did you think?
The book felt like That Cap book when he returned from Heroes Reborn and in Japan, where the city of Tokyo was having a Captain America celebration day, and then he stopped a terrorist from blowing up a theater full of Cap fans.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the book. I thought it was great that it began with no one knowing who's CA, then 10 years later, he's a super celebrity. I liked One-story books.
Looking forward to the new Swordsman and what kind of mess he'll bring to Cap.
