I do think that he has become a great character (And very popular.) since his return, but part of me wishes that he never really came back in the first place (Like Aunt May, Ben Reilly and Jason Todd.). I think that kind of sunk my enjoyment in Brubaker's Winter Soldier story when it first came out. There have definitely been some good stories with him since he came back (And we wouldn't have gotten The Winter Soldier movie or his role in Civil War.), but I still wish that he would have stayed dead. What do you guys think?

Of course, I wasn't a fan of the Winter Soldier story and thought it had some big flaws in storytelling and went on far too long, setting in motion of years of Captain America not being the star in his own book. And there was a character already in place to tell most stories that could be used for the Winter Soldier: Jack Monroe. It rendered him less than redundant as part of his character story is of what happened to a Bucky that didn't have the guidance of Steve Rogers. When Bucky was made every bit as violent and damaged as Nomad, he no longer filled that niche as a skewed reflection of What if Bucky lived and grew up.
