Captain America 698
> THE STORYLINE LEADING TO THE MASSIVE ISSUE #700 KICKS OFF! Steve Rogers awakens to find himself in a strange new future — and it's his worst nightmare! Can he assemble a new band of Howling Commandos to help him battle for freedom?

Okay... well... THAT happened.

Not a dream! Not a hoax! Not an imaginary story! Not a virtual reality! Not an alternate timeline!

Aww, heck, who's kidding who - it could be any of those.

It was a quite intriguing set up with the parallel What Iffery of Cap defrosting after years on ice. There's a cross between KILLRAVEN \(yes\) and DIMENSION Z \(no\) vibe in this new dystopian future - so horrible that they don't even respect the GARFIELD comic strip.

The recent Rampart intro is presently given it's importance. Liang is an interesting good player and the mysterious King Babbington (who is curiously drawn effeminately in shadows) as the bad player. It's a teaseworthy set up with all questions and no answers. That is assuming that, this will entertain more like it's Earth-2120 than it's Zolandia. We're going to need more Easter Eggs, and at least some orienting answers too, ASAP. Anyone care to guess who the Evil King really is? The big problem is that #700 is in 2 issues and it feels irreconcilable that this storyline can organically end so abruptly.

What say you?

Hasn't Cap done this already? Didn't Mike Zeck draw it the last time?
